When the voltage is applied to the piezoelectric ceramic, it will produce mechanical deformation with the change of the voltage and frequency. On the other hand, when the vibration piezoelectric ceramic, it will produce a charge. According to this principle, when the vibrator is composed of two piezoelectric ceramic or a form of piezoelectric ceramic and a metal sheet, called bimorph element, applying a signal, it will emit ultrasonic vibration due to bending. On the contrary, when ultrasonic vibration is applied to the piezoelectric element, an electrical signal is generated. Based on the above function, the piezoelectric ceramic can be used as an ultrasonic sensor.
