BAND STORY
The year was 1865, and a beautiful 12 year-old girl named Pai, set
out on an adventure that would change her life forever. Her mother
had recently become ill, and Pai was determined to find help for
her ailing mother. She had heard of a healer a few towns north, who
could perform miracles using ancient medicine.
Early one morning, Pai set out on the 2 week journey to save her
mother. She knew it would be a long and difficult trip, but she was
up for the challenge. She was determined to do all she could to
help her sick mother. The start of Pai's trip was rather
uneventful, as she hiked day and night, hoping to meet with the
healer as soon as possible. Finally, after 12 days of nonstop
walking across some very rough terrain, Pai made it to the town
where she believed the miracle worker resided. Pai asked locals for
directions to the healer's home, but nobody knew who Pai was
speaking of..
A dejected, tired, and hungry Pai, soon came to the devastating
realization that there was no "miracle healer" that could save her
mother. Pai began to cry uncontrollably as she thought about her
mother back home. Feeling like she had failed her mother, Pai
decided that it was time for her to head home....
On the trip back to her hometown, Pai came across a young boy and a
young girl along the riverside. Pai noticed the boy screaming in
agonizing pain. She then noticed the boy had a massive cut along
his leg. Pai knew exactly what to do in this situation. Fortunately
for the young boy, Pai had all the materials she needed to wrap up
the boys leg. The boy was so relieved and so thankful for Pai, he
offered her a lot of money for her help. Pai, still upset, turned
down the money. She told the boy all she wants is for her mother to
get well..
The girl looked at Pai and asked "Have you spoken to Mother Helena
Healer of the North?" Pai's eyes immediately lit up. She told the
young girl that she couldn't find her, and that no one in the town
knew of her. The boy, so thankful for what Pai had done for him,
gladly showed her the way to the healers home.
Pai, along with the young boy and girl, finally arrived at the
healers home in the middle of the woods. From the outside it looked
as if the home was abandoned. As they slowly entered the small
home, Pai was shocked to see the healer talking with her friend
Raphael. He was a family friend of Pai's and her mother. Raphael
apparently became so worried that Pai hadn't come home yet, that he
set out on his own journey to find Pai and the healer.
"What's the matter with you,my son",the healer ask
"My leg hurts." her son replied.
"You have to say thank you to the girl first " Mother Helena looked
at the bandage on the young boys leg, and realized that indeed Pai
had saved the boys life.because noticed the girls clothes just
missed long sleeves and she were like ice cubes and her fingertips
had frostbite.
Healer have never met a little girl so strong,kind,and filial piety
but only 12 years old.agreed to save Pai's mother.
After a long discussion, the healer gave Pai some medicine for her
to give to her mother. Now, Pai and Raphael started their trip back
home. Pai was overjoyed that Raphael came looking for her. When
they arrived home they quickly gave the medicine to Pai's mother.
Her condition had deteriorated since they had left. However soon
after giving Pai's mother the medication, she started showing signs
of improvement. Miraculously, after just 3 days, Pai's mother was
back on her feet and feeling wonderful.
The little girl is my ancestor.Pai is her "milk name".
Give love, forgiving it you will find the power in life along with
joy, happiness, patience and understanding. Believe in the goodness
of others and re-member that anger and depression can be countered
by love and hope.
Even when you feel as though there isn`t a lot you can do to change
unhappiness or problems, you can always do a little -and a little
at a time eventually makes a big difference.
