Product introduction

It can detect the abrasion resistance and pilling performance of various structural fabrics. The sample and a certain friction material are subjected to low-pressure continuous commutation friction, and the degree of wear and pilling can be compared with standard parameters. The instrument adopts the movable sample fastening component, which can take out a certain friction sample at any time without affecting other samples, not only realizes the rapid and independent detection of the sample, but also ensures the accuracy of the synchronous measurement of the friction.

Test principle
The circular fabric sample is rubbed against the standard abrasive according to the trajectory of the Lisajous curve under a certain pressure, causing the sample to be damaged, and the abrasion resistance of the fabric is indicated by the number of wear resistance of the sample.

Standards compliant
The requirements for testing the pilling degree of fabrics such as ASTM D4970, ISO12945-2, etc. are required to test the abrasion resistance of fabrics such as ASTM D4966, ISO12947.

Pilling test
The fluffy ball test method used on Martindale was developed in conjunction with EMPA. The test is suitable for knitted and woven fabrics (woven from spun yarn). The test instrument is used to simulate the pilling that occurs during normal wear. Under slight pressure, the sample mounted on the sample holder and the self-woven fabric on the grinding table are rubbed with each other in a certain geometric pattern, and then the ground sample is ground. Contrast with standard samples. According to the type of the sample to be tested, it can be simply divided into: a sample of the pilling and pilling of the pilling fabric, and a sample of the pilling fabric. According to the blistering eye, the red line is divided into five levels:
5- no pilling, 4-light pilling, 3-medium pilling, 2-severe pilling, 1- very serious pilling.

Why does pilling happen?
