ST fiber optic connector: the shell is round, fastening way is turnbuckle. For 10Base-F connections, ST connector is usually used. There is a fixing bayonet after rotating half of cycle. The disadvantage is easy to break (commonly used in optical distribution frame).

ST connector is a metal connector, is it composed of metal parts and there are two kinds of metal parts in the market: stamping parts and casting parts. So which one is better?

Stamping process is divided into punching, bending, shearing, drawing, bulging, spinning, straightening. According to the process classification, can be divided into two major categories of separation process and forming process. The separation process is also called blanking, the purpose of which is to make the stamping parts separate from the plate along a certain contour line, and at the same time to ensure the quality requirements of the separation section. The purpose of the forming process is to make the plastic deformation of the sheet material without breaking the blank, and to make the required shape and size of the workpiece. In the actual production, it is often used in a workpiece. Casting is a metal forming method for casting with various objects, namely the liquid metal smelting, casting, injection, inhalation or other injection mold casting method prepared, cooling after falling sand, cleaning and postprocessing, obtained with a certain shape, size and performance of the object.

Stamping process is more complex and its cost is higher, but stamping technology is more suitable for mass production and the quality is more stable. As for steel material, stamping technology is able to get better strength.
