Novolak resins 2144 are produced by reacting formaldehyde with
phenol under acidic conditions and modified with Cardanol which is
C15 alkyl phenol from natural cashew nutshell to improve the
flexibility .
After cooled and solidified,it is milled to powder and mixed with
around 10%of hexamethylenetetramine.
Novolak resins 2181 is recommended for the production of friction
materials(disk pads,brake linings and
clutch facings)required reduced noise and judder,and improved
impact strength
