Hexagonal wire mesh owns hexagonal shape holes with same sizes. Its material mainly is low carbon steel. According to different surface treatments, hexagonal wire mesh can be divided into two types: galvanized wire and PVC coated wire. Wire diameter of galvanized hexagonal wire mesh is from 0.3 mm – 2.0 mm, and Wire diameter of PVC coated hexagonal wire mesh is from 0.8 mm – 2.6 mm. Hexagonal wire mesh with good flexibility and anti-corrosion is widely used as gabion for protecting slopes. According to different applications, hexagonal wire mesh can be divided into chicken wire and slope protection wire (or gabion wire mesh), the former one has smaller mesh openings.
