ISO9001 XLPE insulated power cable for construction
XLPE insulated power cable
Cross-linked polyethylene XLPE has stable intermolecular bonds between polyethylene particles produced by thermochemical action due to the presence of organic peroxides.
XLPE has the same electrical properties as conventional
polyethylene, and has better thermal and mechanical properties due
to stable intermolecular bonding. This makes the maximum continuous
conductor temperature of XLPE insulated cables 90°C, while the
maximum continuous conductor temperature of conventional
polyethylene insulated cables is 75°C. The maximum working
temperature of the overload conductor is 130°C (under the emergency
overload temperature, it shall not exceed 100 hours per year). The
maximum conductor short-circuit temperature is 250°C. This provides
important advantages in terms of cable ratings and has special
significance in countries or situations where the ambient
temperature is high and a derating factor must be applied.
The cross-linking technology is completely based on the "dry"
cross-linking and cooling process. This eliminates the tiny
inclusions of water in the insulation, which, unless prevented,
will cause the so-called "water tree effect". The triple cross head
can extrude the shielding layer over the conductor and extrude the
shielding layer over the insulating layer in one technical
operation. All these make the cable have excellent electrical,
thermal and mechanical properties.

Application
XLPE insulated cables can be used in almost all installations:
ground, cable tray, indoor, power station, factory, exchange
station. Because of their better thermal properties, they are
especially recommended for the following occasions:
-High ambient temperature
-The cable is exposed to sunlight
-The cable is placed in the pipe of the concrete block
-Cables are grouped
-High emergency load is important
-Need high short circuit current
-High shielding layer must transmit high leakage current
Special functions on request:
•Oil resistance
• UV resistance
• Flame retardant cat. A, B, C
•Non-flame retardant
•termite
• Rodent
• Low smoke zero halogen
