UV Fused Silica Optical Plano-Convex Lens Manufacturers
Spherical lenses, also known as singlets, are transparent optical components consisting of one or more pieces of optical glass with surfaces so curved that they serve to converge or diverge the transmitted rays from an object, thus forming a real or virtual image of that object.
There are seven main spherical lens forms or shapes that determine the imaging characteristics of the lenses. They are plano-convex,plano-concave, convex-convex, concave-concave, meniscus, aspheric, and ball.
Fused silica plano-convex lens is based on UV synthetic fused silica,which shows better performance from UV to IR spectrum than BK7 material. Also, it is the best choice in terms of thermal stability. In addition to superior transmission characteristics, fused silica exhibits higher thermal properties, exceptional purity, and excellent environmental durability for applications.
A plano-convex lens is compose of a plane and convex surfaces, has a positive focal length. It is suitable for collecting and focusing light, and is a ideal optical element in the application of emitters, detectors, lasers, and fiber optics.
