INCOLOY 825 (UNS N08825) is a nickel - iron - chromium alloy, which is added molybdenum, copper and titanium. The nickel content is sufficiently resistant to chloride stress corrosion cracking. Nickel, molybdenum, and copper also have excellent resistance to reducing atmosphere, for example comprising sulfuric acid and phosphoric environment. Molybdenum also contributes to resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion. The chromium content of the alloy more resistant to oxidizing substances, such as nitric acid, nitrates and oxides salt. After addition of titanium alloys a suitable heat treatment can be stabilized, so that it is not sensitive to intergranular corrosion.
