This is the clip for the pin which holds the brake cable to the brake lever on the hub. This is the type which fits the clevis pin with the groove cut in. they are easily pre-assembled or removed by hand without the need for any tools.

Use safety clips and bayonet clips on grooved rods or grooved clevis pins instead of the traditional cotter pin.
