The IC697PCM711 is a Single-Slot Programmable Coprocessor (PCU) designed by GE for the Fanuc 90-70 series. The IC697PCM711 is equipped with a dual-tasking module that can be programmed to perform various functions such as real-time computations, operator interface, and data functions that include storage, acquisition, and communication. Communication from the module and the PLC CPU is by way of the backplane, and no application program support is needed. Several PCMs can be supported in a single IC697 PLC system, which can accommodate an optional expansion memory capacity of 512 Kbytes. Operation of the IC697PCM711 module can be done with or without an expansion memory daughterboard. Base memory contains a maximum capacity of 95 Kbytes of user memory. The expansion memory daughterboard allows expansion of program/data memory by 64,128, 256, or 512 Kbytes.
