EN 1.4749 DIN X18CrN28 AISI 446 Stainless Steel Drawn Wire For Glass Sealing​

Type 446 is a non-hardenable stainless chromium steel which has the highest corrosion and

heat resisting properties of the straight chromium steels.

This 446 stainless grade is magnetic at all times.

446 stainless is a ductile 28% chromium-iron alloy which is used for glass-to-metal seals in special
electronic and vacuum tubes and in incandescent and fluorescent lamps.

It exhibits no phase transformation up to 2100°F (1150°C) and is particularly adapted to outside sealing

such as caps where it has the advantage of gripping the glass on cooling, thus increasing the tightness of the seal.
