Tungsten carbide, also known as carbide, is an extremely hard alloy made from tungsten and carbon that offers high wear resistance as well as good corrosion resistance.
Tungsten has good thermal conductivity and lowest thermal expansion of any pure metal. Its corrosion resistance is excellent and it can be attacked only slightly by most mineral acids.
