In some previous projects, surface waves, or ground-roll waves, were usually attenuated or removed by strong amplitude noise that was used as an interference reflection signal. However, the basic idea of this task is to use the dispersion characteristics of the surface wave to analyze the surface wave, thereby inverting the formation velocity.

Discussed here is near-surface survey, generally in the case of exploration tens of meters to a few hundred meters deep. This kind of task usually uses wavelets larger than 50Hz as the signal. MASW, that is, multi-channel surface wave analysis usually deals with low-frequency (such as 1-30Hz) surface waves, which generally range from a few meters to tens of meters. Be shallower.

The basic flow of MASW is divided into three steps:

(1) acquiring multichannel field records (or shot gathers);

(2) extracting dispersion curves (one from each record);

(3) inverting these dispersion curves to obtain 1D (depth) VS profiles (one profile from one curve).
