After normal heating and quenching, the surface hardness can still reach 60-62hrc, but the bending strength decreases by 40% - 50%. The grain size of the surface layer is grade 7 and that of the core layer is grade 10.
The steel has good forging performance, and needs to be heated in neutral atmosphere or protective atmosphere furnace due to easy decarburization.
