18Cr2Ni4W is a high strength medium alloy carburizing steel. To make the C compound and austenite content does not exceed the standard can be used after carburizing high temperature tempering 900~920℃ carburizing, 600~650 tempering, cryotreatment, oil quenching hardness is about 48, want to achieve HRC58-63, must be surface carburizing.

Used for making important parts under high load, can also be used as carburizing surface quenching material; It can also be used to make cold drawn seamless steel pipe or extruded seamless steel pipe. After quenching and tempering, the steel has higher fatigue limit and multiple impact resistance, and good machinability. Poor weldability (preheat before welding). Cracks are easy to form during heat treatment. It is mainly used to manufacture various transmission parts and various structural parts with large cross section in heavy duty machinery under large stress and impact. Such as gear and shaft, worm, spindle, connecting rod bolts etc.
