The stainless steel plate has similar resistance to general corrosion as the unstable nichcr 304. Prolonged heating in the chrome-carbide degree temperature range may affect alloys 321 and 347 in harsh corrosive media. It is mainly used in high temperature applications, where the material is required to have strong sensitization resistance to prevent intergranular corrosion at lower temperatures.
