Bag Lifting Centrifuge for Glucose Crystallization

Bag Lifting Centrifuge for Glucose Crystallization
Description

The Bag Lifting Centrifuge is designed for the solid-liquid separation, crystal washing, and dewatering of glucose crystals after crystallization.

The equipment is suitable for batch glucose crystallization processes where hygienic handling, controlled cake washing, reduced residual moisture, and complete product recovery are required.

It is commonly used for crystalline glucose, dextrose monohydrate, food-grade glucose products, and other sugar crystal separation applications.

Typical Glucose Crystal Applications
  • Crystalline fructose production
  • Food-grade fructose crystal separation
  • Refined fructose crystal dewatering
  • Fructose mother liquor separation
  • Fructose crystal washing before drying
  • Fructose recovery after batch crystallization
  • Starch-based sweetener processing
  • Food ingredient manufacturing
  • High-purity fructose production
  • Fructose crystal recovery before screening and packaging

Why Choose a Bag Lifting Centrifuge for Fructose Crystal Separation?

Glucose crystal separation requires controlled mother liquor removal, hygienic product handling, and reduced product loss during discharge.

Typical operating challenges include:

  • Residual mother liquor affecting crystal purity
  • Hygroscopic crystal behavior during handling
  • Crystal dissolution risk during washing
  • Variable crystal size after crystallization
  • Requirement for lower moisture before drying
  • Need for hygienic batch operation
  • Product retention inside the basket
  • Need for complete batch recovery

The Bag Lifting Centrifuge addresses these requirements through centrifugal filtration, optional cake washing, controlled spin drying, and top bag-lifting discharge.

Glucose Crystal Separation Solution

Peony provides centrifuge equipment and separation support for glucose crystallization, starch sugar processing, food ingredient production, and hygienic crystal recovery projects.

Process Evaluation

Our engineers evaluate:

  • Crystal size and cake-forming behavior
  • Slurry solids content and mother liquor properties
  • Target moisture and product purity
  • Cake washing requirement
  • Required batch capacity and downstream drying conditions

Equipment Selection

We help customers select:

  • Suitable basket size and filter bag specification
  • Filter screen and feed configuration
  • Cake washing and spin-drying arrangement
  • Bag lifting discharge system
  • Product-contact materials, CIP option, and PLC automation level

How the Bag Lifting Centrifuge Works in Glucose Crystallization

The glucose crystal slurry enters the rotating basket lined with a filter bag and supporting filter screen.

Under centrifugal force:

  1. Mother liquor passes through the filter bag and is collected through the filtrate outlet.
  2. Glucose crystals are retained inside the basket.
  3. A crystal cake gradually forms on the inner surface of the filter bag.
  4. Optional wash liquid is introduced to reduce residual mother liquor and improve crystal purity.
  5. High-speed rotation removes residual moisture from the glucose crystal cake.
  6. The machine stops after the programmed cycle is completed.
  7. The filter bag containing the dewatered crystal cake is lifted through the top discharge section.
  8. The glucose crystals are collected or transferred to downstream drying, screening, packaging, or further processing equipment.

The complete batch cycle can be controlled through PLC operation to maintain stable filtration, repeatable washing performance, and consistent product handling.

Main Advantages in Glucose Crystal Separation

Reduced Syrup Carryover

The centrifuge removes mother liquor from the glucose crystal cake before drying. This helps reduce syrup carryover, lowers downstream drying load, and supports more stable final product quality.

Controlled Washing With Lower Sugar Loss

The optional cake washing system can be adjusted for wash liquid type, temperature, and dosage. This helps reduce residual mother liquor while avoiding excessive glucose dissolution during washing.

Gentle Bag-Lifting Discharge

Instead of scraping the crystal cake directly from the basket, the filter bag is lifted after the separation cycle. This supports gentler product handling and helps reduce crystal breakage, product retention, and manual cleaning work.

Better Batch Recovery

The bag-lifting structure helps collect the complete crystal cake in one controlled discharge step. This is useful for glucose production where product recovery and batch yield are important.

Hygienic Food-Grade Configuration

The centrifuge can be configured with polished stainless-steel contact parts, food-grade filter bags, sanitary seals, and CIP cleaning options. It is suitable for food ingredient production environments with defined hygiene requirements.

Hygienic Design and Material Selection

For glucose processing, product-contact components should be selected according to food-grade hygiene requirements and cleaning conditions.

ComponentTypical Configuration
Product-contact partsSS304 or SS316L stainless steel
Basket and casingPolished stainless steel construction
Filter bagFood-grade filter media with customized micron rating
Seals and gasketsFood-grade EPDM, silicone, PTFE, or FKM
Surface finishSelected according to cleanability requirements
Cleaning systemManual cleaning, spray-ball cleaning, or CIP configuration
Product transfer sectionOpen, semi-closed, or closed discharge arrangement
Optional configurationLoad cells, nitrogen protection, explosion-proof motor, or customized PLC control

For higher hygiene requirements, the filter bag material, product-contact finish, cleaning procedure, and sanitary piping details should be confirmed during equipment selection.

FAQ

Is the Bag Lifting Centrifuge suitable for glucose crystals?

Yes. It is suitable for glucose crystal slurry that can form a stable filter cake and requires batch filtration, mother liquor removal, washing, spin drying, and controlled product discharge.

Can the centrifuge wash glucose crystals?

Yes. An optional cake washing system can be integrated. The wash liquid type, temperature, and dosage should be evaluated carefully to avoid excessive glucose dissolution.

Can mother liquor be recovered?

Yes. Mother liquor passes through the filter bag and can be collected for recovery, return to the crystallization process, or further treatment.

Can the machine be configured for food-grade production?

Yes. Food-grade stainless steel, hygienic seals, polished product-contact surfaces, food-grade filter bags, and CIP cleaning systems can be configured according to project requirements.

What moisture content can be achieved?

Final cake moisture depends on crystal size, slurry solids concentration, mother liquor viscosity, cake permeability, washing requirement, basket speed, and cycle time. A material test is recommended before confirming the final target
