LiTaO3 is an E-O crystal widely used for E-O devices, due to its good optical NLO and E-O properties, as well as high damage threshold.
Lithium tantalate (LT) is used as SAW device which screens electromagnetic waves and only picks up specific frequencies. SAW device is used in mobile communication devices, including auto mobiles and TV and VTR tuners.
