Brief Introduction of Geocell Confinement System

Geocells are cellular confinement systems that were created as an easy and durable material that are used for stabilizing and protection. Cellular confinement systems effectively maintain the soil’s compaction, and, by doing so, create a stronger structure for both the infill and pavement.

The cells’ three-dimensional, honeycomb design ensures that the Geocell is strong and durable. This format creates a structure that improves load distribution.

The cell is made from a high density polyethylene (HDPE), which is used to stabilize weak or unsteady soil. That ability is a result of their ability to reduce lateral movement of soil particles while vertically loading on the contained infill.

Geocell Confinement System Characteristic

Geocell greatly reduces erosion caused by weather and heavy or repeated traffic. Through the perforation mode of each unit and weld, the water is allowed to drain freely without flushing the material. Textured surfaces provide additional material retention. It is very suitable for the construction of erodible slopes and embankments, as well as driveways, roads, parking lots, playgrounds, trails, etc.

Laying method

Construction method and technology of geocell:
1. Working face: some existing slopes have met the requirements, slope restoration is in progress, and working faces will be provided successively.
The flatness of slope is directly related to the success or failure of geosyncline grass protection.
It tends to produce stress concentration and solder joint cracking in the lattice chamber.
Therefore, the slope must be leveled to the design requirements, and pumice and dangerous rocks must be removed by manual slope repair.
2. The side slope of the paving room is provided with a main drainage system.
The distance between two adjacent ditches shall be 4m, and the drainage ditch shall be connected with the ditch at the edge of the road to make the water in the road area flow into the drainage ditch and into the edge of the road, so as to avoid the road area and prevent slope erosion protection.
3. Level the slope top, remove sundries that are not conducive to mesh laying, and keep the slope flat and solid.
You can also start with a good layer of soil to help plants grow.
4. The grid is laid from top to bottom along the main direction to make the grid plate weight perpendicular to the highway subgrade.
