List of modified kits

1. Package introduction: a pair of four piston calipers, a pair of high-performance ceramic brake pads, a pair of perforated and enlarged discs, a pair of center bell and bracket for special vehicles, a pair of metal oil pipes (brake hose), and a bottle of brake oil.

2. Increasing the refitting plate has requirements on the steel ring of the vehicle:
Basically, it is required that the 330mm enlarged plate can be inserted only when the 17 inch steel ring (ET value) is above.
Firstly, the caliper of the original vehicle needs to be removed. After the removal, the flange of the original vehicle shall be cleaned to prevent the putty adhesion of the original vehicle from affecting the modified braking effect.

3. When installing, the outer edge of the dust cover of the brake disc of some models may need to be manually corrected to prevent touching the brake disc

4. After the brake disc is installed, check whether the screw hole position fits. If there is no problem, install the bridge code, and then install the caliper on the bridge code with an Allen wrench; Next, install the brake oil pipe (brake hose),; Then replace the new brake oil. When replacing the brake oil, someone needs to step on the brake pedal in the cab to eliminate the fuel consumption in the brake cylinder and oil pipe.

5. After the refitting kit is installed, it takes a period of running in period to make the new refitting kit run in better, so as to really improve the braking effect.

6. Enlarge the disc

The lever principle tells us that the farther the brake caliper is from the disc center, the stronger the braking force generated and the smaller the pedal force required.
In addition to mechanical reasons, another important function of the brake disc is a large-area high-efficiency radiator, which is responsible for diffusing the heat generated during braking into the air. Therefore, from the perspective of pure performance, the larger the brake disc, the better.
There is a point that must be introduced. The brake disc area and diameter of the enlarged disc increase, so the torque also increases. There will be two situations:
First, the torque increases and the braking performance increases by about 20%, which is popular;
Second, with the increase of the brake disc area, the possibility of jitter increases and often occurs. It may be because the ejection speed of the single piston caliper after replacing the enlarged disc and the additional bridge code do not fit well, which will also cause after-sales problems such as jitter.

7. The following is the design introduction of some high-performance brake discs:

Although the cost of split brake disc is high, it can reduce the weight of disc;
The ventilation hollow design of the ventilation disc is to reduce and average the temperature on the inside and outside of the disc;
The scribing design on the friction surface helps to lead away the brake powder generated during high-temperature friction, prevent them from staying between the brake skin and the brake disc, and reduce the friction coefficient;
The drilled brake disc has the functions of heat dissipation, weight reduction and leading away the brake powder, but it will reduce the friction area and affect the durability of the brake pads.
Some people directly replace the whole set of modification kit, while others are satisfied with a little improvement in braking performance in order to save costs. They only modify the enlarged plate.
However, it should be noted that not every car can be refitted;

8. Multi piston caliper:
Most of the original vehicles use single piston calipers, which will cause brake pad wear deviation, different brake pad thickness, insufficient braking force and so on;
When the multi piston caliper is braking, the more uniform and stable the force on the brake pad, improving the braking performance by about 30%,
The pistons are divided into four pistons and six pistons. For example, I can only use four pistons for installation. Most of the original cars are single pistons. Now upgrading to four pistons is not a level to improve the braking effect;
The four pistons are divided into small four pistons and large four pistons, and the selection criteria are as follows:
For the four piston model, the horsepower is below 250p and the displacement is below 1.6, the small four piston is selected,
Large four pistons can be selected for displacement of 1.6-2.5;
As for the six pistons, we don't consider it for the time being. First, the cost and price are high. Second, we don't play cross-country at home. There are not so many requirements. We can meet the needs;
Vi. selection standard of piston:
The six piston model has 300p horsepower and a displacement of more than 2.0T;
It is OK to choose 4 pistons for household use. There is no need to make too high configuration. Too high configuration will cause a waste of resources.

9. center bell: the enlarged discs are split discs, one is the brake disc body, the other is the closure. The closure is made of alloy, and the color can be specially customized. The XXX color is adopted here, and the closure can be used all the time. The next time the brake disc is replaced, only the brake disc body needs to be replaced, and the closure does not need to be replaced; When the closing head and the brake disc body are locked together with screws, the dynamic balance inspection will be conducted again to prevent the dynamic balance from being affected and the brake jitter caused by the integration of the closing head and the brake disc body.

Why does the retrofit kit use metal tubing?
The brake oil pipe of most street cars is made of plastic materials (such as rubber), which is easy to leak oil and absorb water at the interface. Moreover, it will be heated, compressed and expanded during high-strength braking, which will prolong the travel of the brake pedal and affect the feeling of the pedal. The brake oil pipe (brake steel throat) for racing car made of steel wire braid is not only heat-resistant, but also the solid steel wire layer can provide good protection, greatly reducing the possibility of puncture of the brake oil pipe by foreign objects. It is a modification worthy of investment.

11. Selection of brake oil: the best choice of brake oil is DOT4, because the water adsorption speed of dot5 brake oil is faster than DOT4, and dot5 is more corrosive, which will shorten the cycle of replacing brake oil and metal oil pipe.

12. Bracket selection
There are two kinds of supports, one is the original short support, and the other is the long support matched with the modification kit;
The advantage of short support is that the price is preferential and cheap. The conventional refitting and large plate pad the support through such an adapter seat. The disadvantage is that it has high requirements for the accuracy of the workpiece, and it is easy to have deviation, which makes it impossible to install. In the later use process, the failure rate is high, which is easy to understand and the performance is unstable.
