New Habotest HT208A 1000V 1000A 6000Counts Manual Autorange AC Digital Clamp Meter with Flashlight NCV and VA LCD Display
Clamp meters use the principle of magnetic induction to provide a non-contact method of measuring alternating current. As with any conductor, passing an electric current creates a magnetic field. The Hall Effect sensor detects this magnetic field due to the low voltage developed across the sensor.
It's also important to remember that clamp meters only work when a single wire is passed through the pliers.
A clamp meter has multiple parts. Most modern instruments will have:
Jaw - Identify the magnetic field generated by an electric current
Jaw Trigger - used to open and close the jaws
Power switch - button used to turn the clamp on and off
Backlit button – illuminates the LCD when pressed, allowing the
display to be read in the dark
Hold Button - Holds the displayed value when pressed
Negative/Ground Input Terminal – The negative/ground jack of the
gauge cable connects to this cover
Positive Input Terminal - The positive jack of the gauge cable
connects to this cover
LCD display – Display panel for displaying measurement results
Functional rotary switch - enables user to select different
measurement modes
