How to determine zipper strength
according to the standard testing method - JIS / ASTRM / DIN / BS , there are two styles to determine the strength of a slider
1. slider lock strength :
Slider lock strength is determined by engaging the slider lock and increasing the force exerted perpendicular to the slider body until failure occurs , ultimate force equals slider lock strength
2. overall strength of the slider tab pull off - 90 degree :
For a completed slider , resistance of the slider tab is measured when increasing force is put on the pull tab and the lower part of the body is fixed , in addition to this 90 degree method of measuring shown at left , there is a method of 45 degrees
