The Allen-Bradley 1746-IA8 is a programmable logic controller module. It is an 8-channel digital AC input module for a programmable controller and it has general-purpose input applications. The operating voltage ranges from 85 - 132V AC. The controller module has a status display and an open-style enclosure. The isolation voltage of the controller is 500V DC at the communication circuit and 1500V AC at the back-plane. The mounting is a chassis type and has 8 channels. The voltage rating of the controller module is 100 - 120V AC. It has a 32 - 140 degrees Fahrenheit operating temperature and it has all the standard features. The 1746-IA8 logic module weighs 0.23 kg and has a 5" x 2" x 6" (13 cm x 5 cm x 15 cm) dimensions.

The 1746-IA8 controller module has a 47 - 63 Hz operating frequency. It has a back-plane current of 50 mA at 5V and one of 0 mA at 24 V. The module's nominal input current reaches 12 mA at 120V AC. The maximum Off-state current is 2 mA with a max inrush current time duration of 0.5 ms. The signal ON delay is at its maximum at 35 ms and signal OFF delay is at max at 45 ms. It has 0.27 Watts per point with 0.25 Watts minimal thermal dissipation and 2.4 Watts maximum thermal dissipation. It has a max OFF state voltage of 30V AC and maximum OFF-state current of 2 mA with an inrush current of 0.8 A max.
