05 is Al-Mg antirust aluminum alloy, which cannot be strengthened by heat treatment. The alloy has a higher magnesium content and a lower strength, similar to that of alloy 03. The alloy can be deformed cold, but the plasticity is reduced. The plasticity of annealed state is higher, the plasticity of semi-cold hardening state is acceptable. The corrosion resistance of the alloy is fair, suitable for spot welding, atomic hydrogen welding, gas welding, argon arc welding. Its machinability, annealing state is very poor, half cold hardening state is good.

05 alloy is commonly used in the manufacture of pipes, welded fuel tanks and other liquid containers, and other parts that require high plasticity, good corrosion resistance and moderate load bearing. The wire is used for welding rods and rivets, which need to be treated with positive oxidation. In foreign countries, similar alloys (such as 5456) are used to make armor plates and structural parts.
