Machine Winding-through the machine, the spinning bobbin moves back and forth at a regular speed so to distribute wires evenly.

Hand Winding-the wire is distributed by workman with hands when the bobbin spins with the help of a machine. Different from machine winding, hand-made pickups is made by craftsmen according to their own understanding of timbre.

Scattered Winding (random wrap)-a machine spins the bobbin, and the pickup wire goes through the hands of an operator who distributes the wire along the bobbin in an intentionally scattered or random pattern. As "scattered winding" is irregular, the pickups produced in this way can form their own characteristics.
