REAGEN^™ Crystal Violet/LCV ELISA Test Kit (patent-pending) is designed for routine screening for Crystal Violet/Leuco crystal Violet in fish, shrimp, fish/shrimp feed, fish oil and water samples of fish farms or fishponds.

The unique features of the kit are:

1.High recovery (80 - 95%), and rapid extraction method for fish/shrimp or water samples.

2.Converting leucocrystal Violet (LCV) to Crystal Violet before detection. Chromatic Crystal Violet can be rapidly bioconverted into colorless LCV in fish (~80%). The special Oxidant Solution in the kit can convert LCV back to the Crystal Violet form, which can be detected by the kit.

3.Providing a 96-well high throughput quantitative detection method. The detection limit is 0.1 ng/g or ppb for fish/shrimp samples.

4.The prepared samples can be directly used for liquid chromatography confirmation.

5.High reproducibility

Procedure Overview

The method is based on a competitive colorimetric ELISA assay. The Crystal Violet (CV) antibody has been coated in the plate wells. During the analysis, sample is added along with the CV-horseradish peroxidase (CV-HRP) conjugate. If the CV residue is present in the sample, it will compete for the CV antibody, thereby preventing the CV-HRP from binding to the antibody attached to the well. The resulting color intensity, after addition of the HRP substrate (TMB), has an inverse relationship with the CV residue concentration in the sample.

Kit Contents, Storage and Shelf Life

REAGEN^™ Crystal Violet/LCV ELISA Test Kit has the capacity for 96 determinations or testing of 42 samples in duplicate (assuming 12 wells for standards). The kit components should be stored at 2-8°C*. Return any unused microwells to the foil bag and reseal them with the desiccant provided in the original package. The shelf life is 12 months when the kit is properly stored.
