Grade 309S Stainless Steel Plate Thickness 3.0 - 16.0mm TISCO SS Plate ASTM A240
The corresponding Chinese grade of 309S is 0Cr23Ni13, and the
characteristics and uses of American Standard S30908 (American
AISI, ASTM): corrosion resistance and heat resistance are better
than 0Cr19Ni9.
309s is a lower carbon variant of 309 stainless steel used where
welding is required. The lower carbon content minimizes carbide
precipitation in the heat-affected zone near the weld, which can
lead to intergranular corrosion (weld erosion) of stainless steel
in some environments.
It can withstand repeated heating below 980 °C, and has high high
temperature strength, oxidation resistance and carburization
resistance.
