ASTM A672 Grade B50 Electric Fusion Welded Steel Pipe for High
Pressure Service
The A672 pipe specification covers electrofusion-welded steel
tubing with added filler metals, made from pressure vessel quality
plate of various analyses and strength grades for high pressure
service at atmospheric pressure and lower temperatures. Heat
treatment may or may not be required to achieve desired properties
or to meet applicable code requirements. Supplemental requirements
are available when additional testing or inspection is required.
ASTM A672 pipe specifications typically include pipe with an
outside diameter of 16 inches (405 mm) or greater and a wall
thickness of 1/4 inch (6.4 mm) or greater. Other pipe sizes are
available, provided all other requirements of this specification
are met.
