Product Description

Engine oil can be used as a cooling medium for pistons, where oil passages or jets direct oil flow to the underside of the piston crown or through channels in the piston itself. The oil absorbs heat from the piston and carries it away, helping to regulate the temperature and prevent overheating.

Water Jacket Cooling: In some engines, pistons are cooled by circulating coolant (typically a mixture of water and antifreeze) through passages or channels surrounding the cylinder walls. The coolant absorbs heat from the combustion process and indirectly cools the pistons.

Direct Injection Cooling: Modern engines with direct fuel injection may also have fuel injectors located in the top of the combustion chamber or near the piston crown. The fuel spray can help cool the piston by absorbing heat during the injection process.
