We can provide Precise Tolerance with +/- 0.001mm of CNC Machining
Magnesium Alloy Services.
JYH's Machining Magnesium Alloy service is a good choice for high
quality, ISO 9001 certified parts.
Manufacturing Capabilities
Our facility has CNC machining centers, CNC lathes, CNC
longitudinal lathes, slow-speed wire cutting machines and so on,
providing much manufacturing flexibility. Our engineers select the
ideal equipment for an application based on the geometry, material,
and volume of the part being machined to provide customers with
premium quality parts at the best possible price.
We are able to hold very tight geometric tolerances for diameter,
true position, profile, and flatness and so on. Our milling
machines also offer through-the-spindle coolant and Renshaw touch
probes. They also have tool setters that can be used for tool
breakage detection for longer run parts.
Application Range:
Car engine accessory bracket, clutch housing, gearbox housing,
instrument panel frame, steering wheel frame, seat frame, valve
body mobile phone,Drone/camera.Magnesium alloy is very suitable for
this kind of product because it is very light.

Surface finish can be choose or used for:
No.1-Micro arc oxidation process of magnesium alloy
Process characteristics:
Micro-arc oxidation is a new technique for in-situ growth of oxide
ceramics on the surface of non-ferrous metals. The micro-arc
oxidation technology is used to treat magnesium and its alloy
materials with ceramic surface, which has the advantages of simple
process, small footprint, strong processing capacity, high
production efficiency, and suitable for mass industrial production.
Property:
The ceramic film on the surface of magnesium-based parts after
micro-arc oxidation has high hardness (HV 300-1000), strong
corrosion resistance (CASS salt spray test > 480h), good
insulation (film resistance > 100MΩ), strong bonding force
between the film layer and the base metal, and the ceramic
thickness is 10 ~ 100 microns. The abrasion resistance, corrosion
resistance, heat shock resistance and insulation properties of
magnesium alloy surface are greatly improved.
No.2-Cerokate paint
PEO coating, WHITE, 10-15 Micron After PEO coating, coat with
CerakoteH-136 Snow White, 25-50 Micron.Machined.

The Characteristics of Magnesium Parts Can be as follows:
- CNC machining magnesium product have high strength, the ratio of
strength to quality of magnesium alloy has a capacity.
- Magnesium parts have small elastic modulus, good rigidity, strong
shock resistance, and are not easily deformed after long-term use.
- Magnesium machining product have good resistance to electromagnetic
interference and shielding.
- Magnesium machining product do not pollute the environment.

Quality Inspection
- In addition to our stringent in-process controls, all components
must pass a thorough final inspection.
we have a coordinate measuring machine, salt spray testing
machines, profile projectors and other precision
measuring devices, etc.
- Customers' CAD drawings can be directly imported in the coordinate
measuring machines (CMM) for a
direct comparison to the dimensions that are taken from the
physical part.
- All testing is conducted in a 20 degree Celsius climate-controlled
inspection room and the CMM is calibrated to
GB/T 16857.2-2006 (ISO10360-2:2001) standards. All components and
sub-assemblies are 100% inspected,
identified with a logo if required and a final inspection is
generated pertaining to all the critical dimensions.

How to safely machine magnesium?
Although it might sound daunting, it is perfectly safe to CNC
machine magnesium if the right precautions are taken.
Avoid tight clearance angles
Although magnesium can be machined at fast speeds without
compromising the quality of the part,
it is best to avoid tight clearance angles, because contact between
the tool and workpiece increases friction and cutting temperature.
Maintain proper tool condition
Sharp cutting tools can reduce the fire hazard of machining
magnesium.
Dull tools can rub and cause friction, which causes sparks and
builds up heat where the sensitive magnesium chips
are being created. Needless to say, sharp tools will also produce
better parts.
Most machinists use a carbide cutting tool with a large relief
angle for machining magnesium.
Avoid water-based coolant
Although coolants reduce machining temperatures, a water-based
coolant can actually increase the risk of a magnesium fire
as it will produce hydrogen gas.Avoid coolant altogether, or use a
light mineral oil in place of standard coolant. Compressed air
or argon gas can also be used to reduce temperatures without the
risk of exacerbating a potential fire.
Make discontinuous chips
When CNC machining magnesium, it is better to make well-broken
discontinuous chips, as opposed to more easily ignitable ribbon
chips.
Use only explosion-proof chip vacuum
If using a vacuum extraction system for chip removal, this system
should be as fireproof as the rest of the machining setup.

FAQ:
1-Is magnesium hard to machine? - Drilling, milling, turning, and other processes are smoother when
using magnesium, and machining the material requires a
significantly lower cutting force and overall production time than
other metals.
|
2-Can you CNC magnesium? - Magnesium is a lightweight metal with high level of machining
ability that can be CNC machined to create parts with high strength
and excellent corrosion resistance. However, magnesium can be
difficult to machine due to its tendency to ignite or explode if
proper precautions are not taken
|
3-How many machines do you have? - We currently have more than 60 machines: roughly 40+ CNC mills and
30 Injection mold machine,10+ 3D printers. With our long history of
growth, this number is always changing.
|
4-How do I get a quote? - To get a quote for all of our services, simply send us your 3D CAD
model to us. You'll get an interactive quote within hours with free
design feedback. If there are problem areas in the submitted
design,we will provide free design feedback(DFM).
|
5-What types of files do you accept? - We can accept native SolidWorks or ProE files as well as solid 3D
CAD models from other CAD systems output in IGES (.igs), STEP
(.stp), ACIS (.sat) or Parasolid (.x_t or .x_b) format.
|
6-Do you provide First Article of Inspection (FAI) Service? - We can provide FAI as part of the unlimited offer.
|
7-What is payment term does your company can be acceptable? - We can accept T/T (50 prepayment should be paid before start the
production; the 50% remaining payment should be paid after finish
the project).
