0.1uM Hydrophobic PTFE Membranes With Polypropylene Support In Discs Sheets Rolls

PTFE membrane is manufactured in a unique way where polytetrafluorethylene (PTFE) is expanded both uniaxially and biaxially into a 3-dimensional web-like structure called ePTFE which creates billions of microscopic pore and behaves as an absolute retentive membrane. The 0.1μm,0.22 µm and 0.45μm PTFE membranes we supply are laminated onto nonwoven polypropylene backing for improved strength and easy handling. Supported PTFE membranes are inert to most chemically aggressive solvents, strong acids and bases. And PTFE is a inherently hydrophobic material, which makes PTFE membranes perfect for sterilizing gases and trap aqueous aerosols. When used in venting applications, PTFE allows air to pass easily through the membrane while collecting particulate as small as 0.1 micron on its surface and block aqueous liquids thereby protecting pumps and critical samples. Laminated PTFE fmembrane ilters can also be used to filter aqueous solutions when prewetted with methanol.

Applications
Laminated PTFE membranes with PP support are suitable for a wide variety of applications including clarification of compatible non-aqueous solvents, phase separations investigations, venting including water repellency, and environmental air sampling. Because of its inherently hydrophobic property, PTFE membranes will not absorb moisture from air or gases, making it ideal for venting applications, phase separations and aerosol samplings. And the characteristic of broad chemical compatibility and excellent water repellency makes PTFE membranes ideal for filtration of strong acids and aggressive solutions. The optimal combination of high air flow and high resistance to water entry pressure makes it stands out (sometimes, the only choice) in pressure demanding applications where other types of membrane doesn’t work.
