Ferro Silicon Magnesium Introduction

The rare earth magnesium Ferrosilicon alloy is a gray black solid. It is a good spheroidizing agent with strong deoxidation and desulfurization effect. Ferrosilicon, rare earth metal and magnesium metal are the main raw materials for producing rare earth magnesium ferrosilicon alloy. The production of rare earth magnesium ferrosilicon alloy is carried out in submerged arc furnace, which consumes a lot of electricity. It can also be produced in medium frequency furnace. In the process of cast iron, the additive added to the molten iron to make graphite precipitate in a spherical shape is called spheroidizing agent. The spheroidizing agent containing rare earth elements is called rare earth spheroidizing agent.

Ferro Silicon Magnesium Usage

It is mainly used in mechanical casting industry as spheroidizing agent for the production of nodular cast iron. The additive can promote graphite crystallization into spherical shape in nodular cast iron.

Ferrosilicon, rare earth ore and metallic magnesium are the main raw materials for the production of Ferro Silicon Magnesium alloy. The production of rare earth magnesium ferrosilicon alloy is carried out in a submerged arc furnace, which consumes a lot of electricity, and can also be produced in an intermediate frequency furnace.

Ferro Silicon Magnesium alloy is one of the most important inputs in the manufacturing process of spheroidal graphite iron and find usage in low carbon grades of steel due to their low carbon content.
