A 2V deep cycle AGM battery is another type of rechargeable battery commonly used in applications that require a slow and steady release of power over an extended period. AGM stands for Absorbent Glass Mat, which is a technology used in the construction of the battery.

Similar to gel batteries, AGM batteries are designed for deep cycling, meaning they can be discharged to a significant extent and then recharged repeatedly without suffering significant damage. The 2V designation indicates the nominal voltage of a single cell within the battery, and multiple cells can be connected in series to achieve higher voltages, just like with gel batteries.

AGM batteries use a glass mat separator between the battery's positive and negative plates. This mat is made of microfiber glass fibers that are saturated with electrolyte. The absorbed electrolyte provides a stable environment for the chemical reactions that occur during charging and discharging. AGM batteries are known for their low internal resistance, high current output, and resistance to vibration and shock due to the immobilized electrolyte.

These batteries are commonly used in various applications, including renewable energy systems, backup power systems, electric vehicles, recreational vehicles (RVs), boats, and telecommunications. They offer advantages such as maintenance-free operation, high energy density, and the ability to deliver power quickly.
