Working principle

Tube ice making process

The tube ice is formed in the shell and tube evaporator. Water flows along the inner wall of the evaporator to exchange heat with the refrigerant, cool down and form ice.

When the pipe ice falls, the ice cutting mechanism operates to cut the pipe ice into the set size.

When the thickness of pipe ice reaches the expected value, the water automatically stops flowing. The refrigerant hot gas will flow into the evaporator and circulate around the pipe ice, making the pipe ice melt and fall off.

Machine structure

Ice generator

The main part of the tube ice machine is the ice generator , a vertical shell-and-tube vessel surrounded by a water tank. Special water distributors on top of each tube control an even , spiral supply of water down the inside of the tubes. Excess water is collected in a tank beneath the ice generator and pumped back up to the tank at the top.

Tube ice

Tube ice is a kind of regular hollow cylindrical transparent ice. Its external diameter can be divided into three specifications such as Ф22, ф29 and Ф35mm, ranging from 25~50mm long. The inner hole diameter, typically ф5~10mm can be adjusted according to ice-making time. It has a good air permeability and long storage life.
