- Annealing temperatures range from 1868 to 2012 °F (1020 to 1100 °C).
- Cannot be hardened by heat treatment, but duplex 2205 can be work hardened.
Compared with other stainless steel materials, SS2205 represents higher strength and better corrosion resistance. This is because the amount of ferrite and austenite in duplex stainless steel can be controlled by adjusting the chemical composition and the process of heat treatment. Therefore, duplex stainless steel can achieve the best mechanical properties and corrosion resistance.
