One of the standout features of C71500 is its exceptional corrosion resistance, especially in seawater or brackish water, which makes it ideal for marine environments, offshore applications, and desalination systems. It also resists pitting and stress corrosion cracking.

Copper-nickel alloys are naturally resistant to biofouling, making them suitable for environments exposed to marine organisms and other debris.

C71500 is an alloy of 70% copper and 30% nickel.

Applications:

1. Power Generation: Employed in cooling systems for power plants, especially those that use seawater or brackish water for cooling. C71500 tubes are used in condenser units, cooling towers, and heat exchangers in these plants.
2. Desalination Plants: The alloy is used in desalination systems for heat exchangers and condensers, where efficient heat exchange is essential to converting seawater into fresh water. Its corrosion resistance in saltwater environments is a key factor in its use in reverse osmosis (RO) or multi-effect distillation (MED) desalination processes.
3. Chemical Processing: Used in heat exchangers in chemical processing facilities that deal with aggressive chemicals or seawater. Its high resistance to both corrosion and biofouling is especially valuable in such applications.
4. Offshore Oil & Gas: Used in offshore oil rigs and gas platforms for heat exchangers that cool equipment using seawater. Its resistance to seawater and durability in harsh offshore environments make it a popular choice for cooling systems on offshore platforms.
5. Refrigeration and Air Conditioning: Employed in industrial refrigeration and HVAC systems in coastal areas, where its resistance to corrosion from salty air or water is essential.
