Basic functions:

1.Control vehicle start: insert the key and turn it to the START position, the starter circuit is connected, the engine is driven and started.
2.Power control: turn to the ACC position, the vehicle part of the power is turned on, such as the radio and other accessory circuits are connected and can be used; turn to the ON position, the whole vehicle power is turned on, the vehicle is in self-check state, and basic equipment except the engine can be operated.

Working principle:

When the key is turned to start, the ignition switch transmits a signal to the electronic control unit (ECU) of the car. ECU determines the best ignition advance angle and power-on time according to the received sensor signals, such as engine speed, water temperature, intake volume, etc., according to the relevant programs and data stored in the memory, and sends instructions to the igniter. The igniter controls the on and off of the primary circuit of the ignition coil according to the instructions. When the primary circuit is on, current passes through the ignition coil and stores energy in the form of a magnetic field. When the primary circuit is off, the secondary coil generates a high voltage, which is transmitted to the spark plug to ignite the mixture and drive the engine to run.
