1.1 General Introduction
Prefabricated steel structure buildings are pre-designed metal
structures widely used in workshops, warehouses, supermarkets,
entertainment centers, and other types of buildings. These
structures are known for their ease of installation, structural
stability, seismic resistance, water resistance, and fire
resistance. Due to the high strength grade of steel, steel
structure buildings require less raw materials compared to concrete
and wood structures, and they possess high fire resistance and
strong corrosion resistance.
The main load-bearing components such as steel columns, steel
beams, frames, and trusses are connected through welding, bolting,
or riveting. Roofs and walls can be made with composite panels,
where galvanized metal sheets effectively prevent rust and
corrosion, and the use of self-tapping screws ensures tight
connections between the panels to prevent leakage. The core
materials of composite panels, such as glass fiber and rock wool,
have good thermal insulation, heat preservation, and fireproofing
properties. Although brick walls can also be used for wall
maintenance, their cost is higher than that of galvanized steel
roofs and walls. Steel structures have been widely applied in
modern construction due to their high strength, light weight, fast
construction speed, and strong plasticity.
