Aluminum alloy conductor steel reinforced, also known as ACSR (Aluminum Conductor Steel Reinforced), is widely used in power transmission lines. It consists of aluminum strands that conduct electricity and steel core for strength. This combination allows for efficient electrical transmission over long distances while maintaining mechanical integrity.

AACSR Aluminum Alloy Conductor Steel Reinforced consists of one or more layers of 6201 -T81 aluminum alloy wire stranded with a high-strength coated steel core. The core may be single wire or stranded depending on the size.

Used as bare overhead transmission cable and as primary and secondary distribution cable. AACSR offers optimal strength for line design. Variable steel core stranding enables desired strength to be achieved without sacrificing ampacity.

Used as bare overhead conductor for primary and secondary distribution. Designed utilizing a high strength aluminum alloy to achieve a high strength-to-weight ratio; affords better sag characteristics. Aluminum alloy gives AAAC higher resistance to corrosion than ACSR.
