Three-Way Titanium Ball Valves: L-Type and T-Type


Three-way titanium ball valves can be classified into L-type (Q44F) and T-type (Q45F). Each type serves different functions in controlling the flow direction of the medium.


L-Type (Q44F) Three-Way Ball Valve:

The L-type three-way ball valve is primarily used for switching the flow direction of the medium. It allows the connection of two perpendicular channels, effectively changing the medium’s path from one direction to another.


T-Type (Q45F) Three-Way Ball Valve:

The T-type three-way ball valve is designed for media distribution, confluence, and flow direction switching. It enables three channels to be interconnected, or alternatively, it can connect any two of the three channels. This versatile functionality allows for more complex flow control within a system.

Grades of Titanium Ball Valve:

Titanium ball valves, known for their excellent corrosion resistance and strength, are widely used in various demanding environments, including chemical, petroleum, pharmaceutical, and marine engineering fields:


TA1 (Gr1)-Pure titanium, offering the best ductility and toughness, easy to form and weld.


TA2 (Gr2)-Pure titanium, with good overall performance including good corrosion resistance and moderate strength, easy to form and weld.


TA9 (Gr7)-Primarily titanium with the addition of 0.12-0.25% palladium (Pd), significantly enhancing its corrosion resistance, especially in reducing environments.


TA10 (Gr12)-Titanium alloy containing small amounts of molybdenum (Mo) and nickel (Ni), providing better strength and heat resistance than pure titanium while maintaining good corrosion resistance.


TC4 (Gr5)-Titanium alloy mainly consisting of titanium with the addition of 6% aluminum (Al) and 4% vanadium (V), possessing very high strength and hardness, good corrosion resistance, and low density.



Common Connection Methods of Titanium Ball Valves:

Flange Connection: Flange connection is one of the most common methods, suitable for medium to high-pressure piping systems. It connects the valve and pipeline using flanges and bolts, providing good sealing and reliability, as well as easy disassembly and maintenance.


Threaded Connection: Threaded connection is suitable for small diameter, low-pressure piping systems. Common thread types include internal threads (NPT, BSP) and external threads. This method is simple and easy to use but not suitable for frequent disassembly.


Welded Connection: Welded connection can be either butt-welded or socket-welded, suitable for high-temperature, high-pressure, and corrosive media piping systems. Welded connections provide a permanent connection, ensuring no leakage, commonly used in applications requiring extremely high sealing and stability.


Quick-Connect Couplings: Quick-connect couplings allow for rapid assembly and disassembly, suitable for applications requiring frequent installation and removal. This method is convenient and fast but typically used for low-pressure systems.


Clamp Connection: Clamp connection uses clamps to connect the valve to the pipe, suitable for systems with high sanitary requirements, such as in the food and pharmaceutical industries. Clamp connections are easy to assemble and disassemble without special tools.


Socket Connection: Socket connection involves inserting the pipe into the valve's socket end and securing it by welding or bonding, suitable for small diameter piping systems. This method provides good sealing and mechanical strength.
