Introduction
Niobium rods are manufactured from high-purity niobium powder through processes such as forging, rolling, and polishing. They are widely used in steelmaking, metallurgy, atomic energy, superconductors, and medical equipment due to niobium’s unique physical and chemical properties.
Niobium is a refractory metal characterised by a high melting point (2477 °C), low vapour pressure, high elastic modulus, and excellent thermal stability. It also exhibits a low coefficient of thermal expansion and a relatively low density of 8.6 g/cm³, which makes it lighter than many other refractory metals while maintaining superior strength and ductility.

Niobium and niobium alloy rods and wires are extensively used in chemical, electronic, aviation, and aerospace industries due to their high melting point, corrosion resistance, and excellent cold working performance.
Typical applications include:
Structural materials for aircraft engines and rocket nozzles
Reactor internal components and cladding materials in nuclear technology
Corrosion-resistant parts in nitric, hydrochloric, or sulfuric acid environments
Superconducting materials, medical instruments, and electronic components
