5454 Aluminum Alloy is an alloy in the wrought aluminum-magnesium family (5000 or 5xxx series). It is

closely related to 5154 Aluminum Alloy. As an aluminum -magnesium alloy, it combines moderate-to-high

strength with excellent weldability. Like 5154, 5454 aluminum is commonly used in welded structures

such as pressure vessels and ships. As a wrought alloy, it can be formed by rolling, extrusion, and forging

(although forging is not common), but not casting. It be cold worked to produce tempers with a higher

strength but a lower ductility.

Aluminum tanker trailers are used to transport petrochemical products such as diesel, gasoline, kerosene,
