What's the chemical etching process?

1. Cleaning – Remove dirt/oil from the material (e.g., metal, silicon).

2. Printing – Apply a protective layer (e.g., photoresist) to cover areas not to be etched.

3. Exposure – For photolithography: expose masked material to UV light through a pattern.

4. Development – Remove exposed/unexposed areas of the mask to reveal the etching pattern.

5. Etching – Use chemical (acid) or physical (plasma) methods to remove unprotected material.

6. Stripping – Clean off remaining mask to reveal the final etched pattern.
