ISO 5659 NBS Plastic Smoke Density Tester Product Introduction:
The test method of the NBS smoke density test box originated from the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST, formerly NBS) of the United States. It has now become an international test method widely used in many fields. It is suitable for the smoke density level assessment of products such as plastic products, rail transit non-metallic materials, ship non-metallic materials, and wires and cables. This method follows standards such as ASTM E662, ISO 5659-2, and NES 711. Compared with traditional building material smoke density test technology, it uses high-precision photomultiplier tubes as optical sensors, which can capture subtle changes in smoke concentration in the box in real time, significantly improving the accuracy and reliability of test results. In addition, through extended configuration (such as Dräger gas detection tube), it can meet the smoke toxicity testing needs of aviation materials; if combined with FTIR Fourier transform infrared spectrometer, it can also achieve qualitative and quantitative analysis of smoke components, providing more comprehensive data support for material safety performance evaluation. ISO 5659 NBS Plastic Smoke Density Chamber Features:
1. The internal dimensions of the smoke density chamber test
chamber are: 914mm X 914mm X 610 mm. Both the inner and outer walls
are treated with Teflon coating, which can resist the erosion of
highly corrosive gases and greatly extend the service life of the
box;
2. The box adopts a full-door design, which allows users to clean
the inside of the test box more easily, and the efficiency can be
greatly increased when replacing different standard test
accessories;
3. An auxiliary heating device is installed on the outer wall of
the test box cabin, and the temperature inside the box can be set
according to different standard requirements;
4. An explosion-proof aluminum foil device is installed in the box
to reduce the personal risk of test personnel in the event of an
accident;
5. A pressure relief port is opened on the top of the box, which is
connected to the pressure regulating capacity bottle to adjust the
internal pressure of the box;
6. Automatically movable cylinders are installed on the top and
bottom of the box for inhaling and exhausting smoke;

22. The smoke density test box is an integrated design, equipped
with a touch screen computer. Users can use the test software and
the whole process is computer-set and controlled;
