System Introduction
The solar-powered seawater desalination reverse osmosis system is a
comprehensive water treatment system that uses solar energy as the
power source and converts seawater into fresh water through reverse
osmosis technology. The core principle is to utilize solar
photovoltaic (PV) or photothermal conversion devices to convert
solar energy into electrical or thermal energy, providing power for
the reverse osmosis (RO) membrane separation process, achieving
efficient separation of salts and impurities in seawater, and
ultimately producing fresh water that meets standards.
Core Components
Solar energy collection and conversion module
Photovoltaic modules: Directly convert solar energy into electrical
energy to power reverse osmosis pumps, control systems, etc.
Solar thermal module (optional) : Converts solar energy into
thermal energy through a collector for preheating seawater or
driving a thermally assisted reverse osmosis process.
Seawater pretreatment unit
It includes processes such as filtration, sterilization, and pH
adjustment to remove impurities such as suspended solids,
microorganisms, and colloids from seawater, protecting reverse
osmosis membranes from contamination and clogging.
Reverse osmosis membrane module
High desalination rate composite membrane elements are adopted to
achieve salt separation in seawater under high pressure (usually
50-70bar), and the freshwater recovery rate is typically 30%-50%.
Energy recovery device
The pressure energy during the discharge of concentrated water is
recovered to reduce the energy consumption of the system. Common
equipment includes turbine energy recovery devices (ERD).
Control system and water storage unit
It intelligently regulates the processes of solar power supply,
pump group operation, membrane cleaning, etc., and is equipped with
a water storage tank to store desalinated fresh water.
