Pulse Input Module

The Pulse Input (PI) module provides eight high-sensitivity, high-frequency inputs, optimized for use with non-amplified magnetic speed sensors commonly found on rotating equipment (e.g., turbines, compressors). It detects voltage transitions from magnetic sensor inputs and accumulates these transitions within a configurable time window (rate measurement). The resulting count generates frequency or RPM values, transmitted to the main processor with ±1 μs timing accuracy.

Triple-Channel Architecture

Three independent input channels process all data in parallel

Each channel delivers data to the main processor for voting, ensuring maximum integrity

Continuous diagnostics per channel activate fault indicators and chassis alarms on failure

Fault tolerance: Operates normally with single faults; partial functionality maintained during multiple faults

No accumulation function – Optimized for rotational speed measurement only
