Energy Recovery Ventilation (ERV) is an energy recovery process that involves exchanging the energy contained in the air typically expelled from buildings or spaces, and using it to treat (pre-treat) the outdoor ventilation air entering residential and commercial HVAC systems. In warmer seasons, the system pre-cools and dehumidifies; in cooler seasons, it humidifies and preheats.
