Inconel 718 Spring Wire — for Aerospace Springs, Fasteners &
High-Temp Applications
ISO9001 & SGS Certified | Est. 2002 | 12,000 m² Factory | Precision ±0.01mm | 3–7 Day Dispatch
Inconel 718 spring wire from Changzhou DLX Alloy Co., Ltd. is a
precipitation-hardenable nickel-chromium-iron alloy wire engineered
for springs, fasteners, and high-strength components operating from
cryogenic temperatures up to 700°C. Manufactured through multi-pass
precision cold drawing with controlled-atmosphere heat treatment,
our Inconel 718 wire delivers the fatigue resistance, relaxation
resistance, and dimensional consistency required in aerospace, oil
& gas, and power generation applications — all with full EN 10204
3.1 MTC traceability on every spool.
Property
| Property | Value | Benefit for Spring Applications |
|---|
| Heat Treatment | Precipitation-hardenable (age hardenable) | Deliver wire in soft solution-annealed condition for easy coiling,
then age harden to full strength — simplifies your manufacturing
process |
| Service Temperature | Cryogenic to 700°C | Maintains spring force across extreme temperature swings where
stainless steels lose temper and relaxation resistance |
| Fatigue Resistance | Excellent, especially in age-hardened condition | Critical for cyclic-loading springs in valves, actuators, and
aerospace control systems |
| Relaxation Resistance | Superior at elevated temperatures | Maintains preload in bolted joints and spring assemblies operating
above 500°C where conventional alloys lose clamping force |
| Corrosion Resistance | Good in oxidizing and reducing environments; resists chloride SCC | Suitable for offshore, chemical, and sour service environments
without protective coatings |
Typical Applications
| Industry | Application | Why Inconel 718 |
|---|
| Aerospace | Engine valve springs, actuator springs, turbine seal rings,
high-strength fasteners & bolts | AMS 5832 qualified; retains strength and fatigue life at engine
operating temperatures |
| Oil & Gas | Downhole tool springs, subsea valve springs, wellhead fasteners,
sour service bolts | Resists H₂S stress cracking and chloride pitting in deep well and
subsea environments |
| Power Generation | Gas turbine springs, steam valve springs, nuclear reactor fasteners | Maintains relaxation resistance through continuous high-temperature
operation |
| Automotive & Motorsport | Exhaust valve springs, turbocharger actuator springs,
high-performance fasteners | Withstands sustained exhaust gas temperatures without loss of
spring rate |
| General Engineering | Cryogenic valve springs, chemical process fasteners, high-temp
bolting | Single alloy solution from -196°C to 700°C — no need for multiple
material specs |
Not sure about your heat treatment state? Tell us your coiling process and final service temperature — we
recommend solution-annealed or age-hardened delivery condition
within 24 hours.

- ±0.01 mm precision — Multi-pass cold drawing with real-time diameter monitoring
ensures consistent wire diameter across the entire spool.
Eliminates feed variation in automated coiling machines and ensures
uniform spring rate batch to batch.
- Choice of delivery condition — Solution-annealed wire for maximum formability during coiling
(age harden after forming), or fully age-hardened wire ready for
finish grinding. Specify your target hardness or tensile range.
- Full heat-to-spool traceability — Every spool traceable to original heat number with EN 10204 3.1
MTC included as standard. Multi-point quality chain from melting
through finished wire inspection under ISO9001.
- Integrated production, not trading — Melting, forging, rolling, multi-pass drawing,
controlled-atmosphere annealing, and testing all in-house. No
quality gaps from outsourced processing — consistent wire
properties spool to spool.
- Surface quality you can coil — Controlled-atmosphere annealing prevents surface oxidation and
decarburization. Bright, lubricant-free surface finish ready for
your coiling operation — no pre-cleaning required.
- Application-level support — Our metallurgical team reviews your spring design parameters
(wire diameter, coil geometry, service temperature, cycle life
target) before recommending delivery condition and heat treatment
protocol. Engineering partnership, not just wire supply.

Changzhou DLX Alloy Co., Ltd. was founded in 2002 with a single
focus: nickel-based specialty alloys. We are not a general wire
mill — every drawing die, annealing parameter, and quality
checkpoint is designed around nickel alloy wire manufacturing.
- 12,000 m² dedicated facility with integrated melting, forging, rolling, multi-pass drawing,
controlled-atmosphere annealing, and testing — wire produced under
one roof from ingot to finished spool
- 1,200-ton annual capacity, with automated drawing lines and in-line diameter monitoring that
maintain tolerance consistently within ±0.01 mm
- Wire expertise across material families — manufacturing experience spanning nickel alloys,
high-temperature alloys, precision alloys, and thermal spray wires
means we understand the metallurgy, not just the drawing process
- Five product forms — bar, strip, tube, plate, and wire — enabling integrated supply
for customers sourcing multiple product types from a single
qualified vendor
- ISO9001 quality management with multi-point traceability; SGS-accredited with BV and TV
third-party inspection available

Should I order solution-annealed or age-hardened wire?
If you coil or form the wire in-house, order solution-annealed for
maximum formability — then age harden after forming. If you need
wire ready for finish grinding or minor forming only, order
age-hardened. Our technical team can review your manufacturing
process and recommend the optimal condition.
Can you supply a trial spool before bulk order?
Yes. We support trial quantities for first-time buyers to validate
wire feed, coiling performance, and post-forming heat treatment
response before committing to production volumes.
Do you supply with AMS 5832 certification?
Yes. Wire can be supplied with full AMS 5832 compliance
documentation. EN 10204 3.1 MTC with chemical composition,
mechanical properties, and grain size is included as standard.
What surface finish do you recommend for spring coiling?
Our standard bright finish from controlled-atmosphere annealing is
ideal for most coiling operations — clean surface, no oxide scale,
and no decarburization layer. For specific lubrication
requirements, coated finishes are available on request.
What if the wire doesn't meet my spring performance targets?
Every spool is tested and documented before shipment. In the rare
event of non-conformance, we review your spring test data against
our MTC and resolve through process adjustment or replacement. Our
ISO9001 system requires root cause analysis and corrective action
on every claim.
