Features:

1. Neonatal respiratory monitoring: Acutronic’s micro flow sensors (such as the MPU700) are designed for low flow measurements and are suitable for neonatal ventilators, CPAP devices or oxygen therapy to monitor tidal volume (VT), minute ventilation (MV) and respiratory rate (RR).

2. Accurate measurement: The sensor needs to have high sensitivity (to detect small flow changes) and low dead space volume (to reduce the risk of rebreathing).

3. Flow range: Confirm that the sensor range matches the needs of neonates (usually 0–20 L/min or lower).

4. Accuracy and linearity: The error should be ≤±2% of full scale to ensure the accuracy of small flow changes.

5. Dead space volume: ≤1 mL is recommended to avoid increased respiratory resistance or CO₂ retention.

6. Response time: It needs to be fast (<10 ms) to capture rapid breathing (neonates can have respiratory rates of 40–60 breaths/minute).
